Carol Chuang
Carol Chuang is both a piano teacher and Executive Director for the Pacific Institute of Music.
A native of Taiwan, Ms. Chuang earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from National Institute of the Arts in Taiwan (later renamed the Taipei National University of the Arts). She came to the United States in 1996 pursuing a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati with full scholarship under Mr Frank Weinstock.
After years of leading a successful piano studio, Ms. Chuang established the Pacific Institute of Music in 2009—a one of a kind music school offering professional education to talented children and aspiring adults.
During her 20 years teaching in Folsom CA, she’s brought up numerous top prizes winners of local, state and international competitions, such as MTAC Sierra Fall Festival, Go for the Gold Competition, Honors Competition, Contemporary Music Competition, Classical Master Music Festival, Auburn Symphony Young Artist Competition, International Music Festival, International Crescendo Competition, United States Open Music Competition, and New York Debut Young Musician Competition etc.
In addition her roles as teacher and executive director at PIOM, Ms. Chuang regularly performs as a chamber musician with her colleagues in Piano Trio and Piano Duo in the Greater Sacramento Area.
Ms Chuang also serves as California Coordinator of International Crescendo Music Competition, Coordinator of International Music Festival in California, Chair of MTAC Sierra Fall Festival, Chair of CAPMT District V Honor and Contemporary Music Competitions and past president of a few non-profit organizations in the area, including CAPMT, and MTAC.
